The Accident

June 9, 2012 — Near-Death Experience

I was the guy on the motorcycle. On Route 73, a left-turning car blocked my path. I was thrown 30 feet in the air and hit a utility post head first, suffering broken bones, and more, and I was knocked out. Jamie’s visits and voice helped pull me through my coma.

"Jamie’s voice gave me a reason to live — my heart started racing with hope."

Friends and family gathered to support me, with a successful fundraiser, thrown by Jamie, to aid my recovery.

Welcome

Hi, I'm Steven Rice. In 2012, I nearly died in a terrible motorcycle accident. Thanks to my amazing wife Jamie’s unwavering support, I survived. This website shares our remarkable journey — a love story worth telling.

Our Story

Jamie was a champion cheerleader, saved lives daily as a cardiac sonographer, and stole my heart when I was 16. We met at a weekend party in Marlton, NJ — love at first sight.

“Who the heck is that guy?!” — Jamie in the stairwell, first seeing me

Through ups, downs, breakups, and Army training, our bond only grew stronger.

Decades later, after my accident and recovery, I asked for Jamie’s hand in marriage — a dream come true.

The Wedding

I proposed on my grandparents’ front lawn, with Jamie saying an enthusiastic “YEAH!” surrounded by happy family and friends. The wedding marked the celebration of both our love and survival.

Our honeymoon at Sandals Resort in Antigua felt like a royal experience, complete with butlers and memories to last a lifetime.

“I feel famous now that our wedding is on YouTube.”
